Job Description

POSITION RESPONSIBILIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As a certified nurse assistant, you will provide health and physical care for patients and residents at home, in hospitals and other facilities. You will help perform day-to-day tasks and play a vital support role. To succeed in this role, you should have your state certified nursing assistant certification and a nursing degree from a recognized CNA program.

  • Answer patient calls and determine how to help them
  • Provide support with hygiene, using the toilet, walking and exercising
  • Turning and repositioning bedridden patients
  • Ensuring patients receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions
  • Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary/fecal output
  • Recording vital signs and monitoring changes
  • Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical attention
  • Observing changes in patient behavior

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • State certified nursing assistant certifications
  • Current CPR
  • Nursing degree from a CNA program
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • High school diploma
  • Comfortable with computer use
  • Excellent personal hygiene
